The Augathella Spiegeltent
Experience the magic of The Augathella Spiegeltent, a stunning creation by the renowned Klessen Family of Belgium, intricately designed to evoke the spirit of the iconic Australian wool shed. Since 2009, The Augathella (formerly the Q150 Shed) has lived in the beautiful regional Queensland town of Augathella. The word 'Augathella' comes from the Pama–Nyungan language of the Bidjara People meaning 'camp on a waterhole.' We could not think of a better name for this venues next chapter!
In 2023, Mayor Zoro of Murweh Shire Council and Tom Oliver, CEO of Wynnum Fringe Festival, agreed to partner and bring this piece of Queensland history back to life. Celebrating the town of Augathella, spreading its word, championing artists and stories for years to come.
With a sprawling circular floor measuring a circumference of 23 meters, and a deep traditional European & Indigenous connection, The Augathella Spiegeltent welcomes performances and events of all genres, promising unforgettable experiences for all who gather within its walls. Preliminary renovations are under way with completion due towards the end of 2024.
The Lunchbox Theatre
The Lunchbox Theatre, adorned with its name in striking hues of blue and pink, made its dazzling debut at the Wynnum Fringe Festival 2023, capturing the hearts of over 1,300 delighted attendees across 20 unforgettable shows and events. This 6m x 15m marquee with vinyl walls has a 6m x 2.6m x 0.4m stage to entertain up to 90 seated guests or 100 standing. The Lunchbox Theatre isn't just a venue; it's a vibrant hub of artistic expression, promising a feast of theatrical delights for festival-goers and event enthusiasts alike. Miles: The Caravan Stage
Miles, the vibrant 1970 Newlands Caravan, has undergone a magnificent transformation into a remarkable mobile stage! This lively character has popped up all across Southeast QLD, adding a touch of magic to events like Caravanning Queensland's Caravan Super Shows in Brisbane, Nambour & Ipswich, park concerts, Christmas carols, breweries and backyard bashes!
With a stage space of 8.5m2, including an internal floor and stage area of 1.8m x 4.7m, along with a fold-out stage space of 2m x 2m (4m2) and a shade facade for sunny weather. Miles is used by solo singers, musicians, public speakers and can comfortably accommodate up to a 5-piece band.
